Ellen No and euml;l Art Museum: EXHIBIT: Mary Shaffer: Fluid Translucency, contemporary glass sculpture, through June 18. Regular museum gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m., 4909 E. University, Odessa, 550-9696. No admission charged.

Maverick Players: COMEDY: "Smoke on the Mountain," 2 p.m., Maverick Players Theater, Midland Park Mall, 522-5225. Admission charged.

McCormick Gallery: Allison Fine Arts Building, Midland College, 3600 N. Garfield, 685-4653. Regular hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday 1-5 p.m. No admission charged.

Midland County Historical Museum: EXHIBIT: An exhibit honoring World War II veterans is now in place, in cooperation with the Texas Historical Commission's 3-year program. Permanent exhibits: Native American artifacts; early Midland photos and relics; replica of Midland Man discovery; early obituary files available for research, 301 W. Missouri. Open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2-5 p.m. Call 682-2931 or 688-8947. Free.



Midland County Historical Society: HISTORIC HOME: Z. Taylor Brown-Sara Dorsey Medallion Home, oldest restored home in Midland, 213 N. Weatherford, 682-2931. Open by appointment and for small special occasions.

Midland Gallery: EXHIBIT: An eclectic collection of art from around the world, Colonnade Shopping Center, 4610 N. Garfield, Suite A-2. Hours are Monday-Saturday 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. or by appointment, 694-8761.


Museum of the Southwest: EXHIBIT: Travis Erion, part of the Contemporary Artist Series, through June 29. EXHIBIT: Daddy-O's Texas Tales: Selected Works by Bob Wade, through June 1, 1705 W. Missouri, 683-2882. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m. Donations are suggested for admission.

Permian Basin Petroleum Museum, Library and Hall of Fame: EXHIBIT: Rio Grande! Bravo! panoramic photography by Jon M. Smith. EXHIBIT: Miss Mabee 1953 race car, Chaparral Gallery, until July. Museum hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m., 1500 Interstate 20 West, 683-4403. Admission charged.

The Presidential Museum and amp; Leadership Library: The only museum in the country dedicated to the office of the Presidency. EXHIBIT: The Gallery of the Presidents. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday, 4919 E. University, Odessa, (432) 363-7737. Free admission to museum members; admission charged others.

Scarborough-Linebery House: HISTORIC HOME: 802 S. Main St., 685-7368. Open by appointment; available for rental for weddings and other special occasions.

Sibley Nature Center: Center for learning about the flora, fauna, and natural and human history of the Southern Llano Estacado, 1307 E. Wadley. Office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Call 684-6827 for information on art and photography classes.

University of Texas of the Permian Basin: EXHIBIT: Junior/Senior Art Exhibition 2008, through June 3, Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery, Visual Arts Building. Regular hours are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 2-5 p.m., 4901 E. University, Odessa. Call 552-2806. Free.

MEMORIAL DAY

Commemorative Air Force: SPECIAL EVENT: To Honor Those Who Served, a Memorial Day ceremony featuring a fly-over by the CAF Ghost Squadron followed by a lunch program with Keni Thomas, a U.S. Army Ranger who was part of the story of Blackhawk Down, 11 a.m. in the CAF Memorial Garden, with luncheon program following in the Commemorative Center. Additional ticket required for lunch.

TUESDAY

American Airpower Heritage Museum: EXHIBIT: Internationally recognized collection of authentic World War II artifacts and memorabilia, 9600 Wright Drive, Midland International Airport, Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 563-1000. Group and student discounts available with prior reservation. Admission charged.

Casa de Amigos: CLASS: Ceramics instruction for seniors, 8-9 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays, senior crafts room, 1101 E. Garden Lane, 682-9701. No charge.

Fredda Turner Durham Children's Museum: Regular museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m., 1705 W. Missouri, 683-2882. Admission charged to non-members; free on Sundays.

The Haley Library and History Center: EXHIBIT: Permanent collections including paintings, bronzes, firearms and artifacts that exhibit pioneer settlement of the Great Southwest and the cattle industry, 1805 W. Indiana. 682-5785. Regular hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.

Midland Arts Association: EXHIBIT: Works of Janis Moore, artist of the month of May, Monday-Friday, banking hours, Community National Bank lobby, 401 W. Texas. Regular hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday.

Midland Palette Club: EXHIBIT: Work by artist of the month of May, Bonnie Johnson, Monday-Friday, banking hours, Chase Bank lobby, 2301 West Wall.

WEDNESDAY

Parker House Ranching Museum: Permanent collection of Tom Lea and his work, also featuring area local history exhibits. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, 1118 Maple, Odessa, (432) 335-9918. Free.
