Snyder fire chief recovering after Ride to Remember accident

The Snyder fire chief and his wife are recovering this morning after they were involved in a motorcycle accident during the Ride to Remember Monday morning, police said.
Perry and Karen Westmoreland were riding through Midland on Highway 191 around 10:30 a.m. Monday when they were involved in a motorcycle accident that sent both to Midland Memorial Hospital, said Darrell Craig with the Snyder Fire Department.
Karen Westmoreland had been released Tuesday morning and Perry Westmoreland was in stable condition after having surgery on his leg and treatment for a collapsed lung, Craig said.
The two had traveled to Midland to participate in the Memorial Day Ride to Remember with hundreds of other motorcyclists.
Westmoreland has been the fire chief in Snyder for more than eight years, Craig said.
