Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter was elected second vice president of the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas at the organization’s 130th Annual Training Conference this week.
Painter has held the position as Midland County’s sheriff since 1985. The Sheriffs’ Association of Texas, which started in 1874, holds annual training conferences like the one this week that was attended by about 1,500 who heard from speakers and visited exhibits to learn about the latest technology in law enforcement.
