MHS WINS MONAHANS TOURNAMENT: At Monahans, Midland High won three times on Saturday to claim the championship of the Monahans Sandhills Tournament and start the season with a perfect 10-0 mark
The Lady Bulldogs opened by beating Seminole 25-13, 25-22 then beat host Monahans 25-23, 21-25, 26-24 to reach the championship match. Midland High then swept El Paso Franklin 25-19, 25-19 to win the championship.
Ashley Collier was named the tournament's most valuable player for Midland High. Breanna Dory and Kristen Culp were named to the all-tournament team.
Midland High will return to Monahans for a match Tuesday at 2 p.m.

LEE TAKES THIRD AT GARLAND: The Lady Rebels went 3-1 on land third place at the Garland Tournament. Lee's three wins came against Naaman Forest, Rockwall and John Paul. After winning the first game against Sachse 25-20, the Lady Rebels fell in two straight, 19-25 and 16-25.

Trinity will play a dual match at Kermit with Kermit and Marfa on Tuesday.
