FORT WORTH -- Sproles Woodard L.L.P. has completed its acquisition of Shrode, Creech and Tabb, P.L.L.C., a Midland accounting firm that has been in business since 1990. The acquisition will strengthen Sproles Woodard's position as one of the leading privately held accounting firms in the Southwest, and will provide additional expertise in the firm's oil and gas practice while also expanding the firm's capabilities to include business valuation. Moreover, it will add eight employees to Sproles Woodard's Midland office. The acquisition took place on Aug. 1, 2008.

"It's great to bring on a firm that shares a common value system and mirrors our commitment to providing quality service and outstanding client relations," said Joe Rogers, partner in charge of Sproles Woodard's Midland office. "This acquisition will provide great opportunities forthe clients that both firms have served throughout the years."

Shrode, Creech and Tabb have served the Midland/Odessa region for nearly two decades. Both firms share significant experience in the Permian Basin oil and gas industry. The acquisition will provide more resources and enhanced service capabilities for both firm's respective clients.

"We had initial discussions with Sproles Woodard last year," said Roy Shrode, managing partner with Shrode, Creech and Tabb. "It became apparent to me that we could do more as a combined firm than as separate firms. I really appreciate the fact that we both bring reputations for integrity and quality service, together into a combined firm that provides more resources and enhanced service capabilities to our clients. We are excited to see what we can accomplish together."

"The merger of Shrode, Creech and Tabb into Sproles Woodard increases our already significant position in the Midland/Odessa region," said Pat Evans, managing partner of Sproles Woodard. "The experience that the firm brings to Sproles Woodard will broaden our capabilities in each of the markets we serve, and provide a companywide area of expertise in business valuation. It increases our depth in consulting with high net worth family groups and privately held businesses and their owners. This just works well on so many levels for the combined firm."
