A Midland restaurant has decided to “Pay It Forward” this Thanksgiving by offering a meal to the needy.
Romie’s Mexican Restaurant, 701 S. Marienfeld St., will be open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Manager Cesar Franco said it has been seven years since the 11-year-old eatery first did this.
“We’re going to try to do it every year from now on. We’re just giving back to the community,” Franco said of offering the free repast.
The restaurant, owned by Romelia Carrasco, can seat close to 100 people. Family will be serving the mean of turkey, dressing, corn and tea, Franco said.
“It’s a pay it forward type deal,” he added.

" "Pay It Forward" is having good things happen to you and then you go out and do good things for others. There was a really good movie a few years back called "Pay It Forward" that tells the story. "

" I think its great that one would set this example for many others because it is the time of season that this kind of thing should be going on. It shows how much of a big heart this family has for others. "

" God has truely blessed this family and restaurant and it is amazing to see them bless members of our community! It would be nice if some of our more prominent restaurants would do this, they make a lot more than these family owned restaurants and they are able to bless others. "
